We are building a collaborative and inclusive research culture that brings together people across disciplines, professions, institutions and career stages around a shared scientific mission.<br><br>Team science is central to this approach. We want people to be recognised for the different expertise and contributions they bring, to have opportunities to develop their careers and skills, and to work across traditional disciplinary and institutional boundaries.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5819c40 e-con e-atomic-element e-flexbox-base e-5819c40-5790820 \" data-id=\"5819c40\" data-element_type=\"e-flexbox\" data-e-type=\"e-flexbox\" data-interaction-id=\"5819c40\">\n    <div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b0578d2 e-con e-atomic-element e-flexbox-base e-b0578d2-abe0c50 \" data-id=\"b0578d2\" data-element_type=\"e-flexbox\" data-e-type=\"e-flexbox\" data-interaction-id=\"b0578d2\">\n    \t\t\t<h2 data-interaction-id=\"56a6622\" class=\"e-56a6622-f58ab93 e-heading-base\"><strong>Team science<\/strong><\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"e-3e43f13-ce6aa10 e-paragraph-base\" data-interaction-id=\"3e43f13\">The Centre is designed around team science, bringing together complementary expertise to address complex questions that cannot be tackled by individual disciplines or institutions alone.<br><br>Researchers, clinicians, data scientists, technical specialists, research professionals and other contributors will work across Research Streams, working groups and institutions. We will recognise the different contributions that make collaborative research possible and create opportunities for people to contribute their expertise to shared Centre goals.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e1fd956 e-con e-atomic-element e-flexbox-base e-e1fd956-2966a87 \" data-id=\"e1fd956\" data-element_type=\"e-flexbox\" data-e-type=\"e-flexbox\" data-interaction-id=\"e1fd956\">\n    <div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b93a841 e-con e-atomic-element e-flexbox-base e-b93a841-4d62b86 \" data-id=\"b93a841\" data-element_type=\"e-flexbox\" data-e-type=\"e-flexbox\" data-interaction-id=\"b93a841\">\n    \t\t\t<h2 data-interaction-id=\"8bf2b5f\" class=\"e-8bf2b5f-f6f549a e-heading-base\"><strong>Developing people and careers<\/strong><\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"e-d774030-44822f3 e-paragraph-base\" data-interaction-id=\"d774030\">The Centre will create opportunities for researchers and research professionals at different career stages to develop their skills, experience and networks within a multidisciplinary and multi-institutional research environment.<br><br>Early and mid-career researchers will have opportunities to contribute to the development of the Centre through an ECR\/MCR Forum, alongside mentoring, leadership development, fellowship support and activities designed to support career progression and independence.<br><br>We also want people to gain experience beyond their immediate research environment, building connections across institutions, disciplines and different parts of the translational research pathway.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0cec66e e-con e-atomic-element e-flexbox-base e-0cec66e-7f1e355 \" data-id=\"0cec66e\" data-element_type=\"e-flexbox\" data-e-type=\"e-flexbox\" data-interaction-id=\"0cec66e\">\n    <div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-814aa5f e-con e-atomic-element e-flexbox-base e-814aa5f-441dab5 \" data-id=\"814aa5f\" data-element_type=\"e-flexbox\" data-e-type=\"e-flexbox\" data-interaction-id=\"814aa5f\">\n    \t\t\t<h2 data-interaction-id=\"0326d31\" class=\"e-0326d31-e8ad0ca e-heading-base\"><strong>Training across the Centre<\/strong><\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"e-8058110-efcaab8 e-paragraph-base\" data-interaction-id=\"8058110\">Training will be embedded across the Centre, creating opportunities for people to develop the scientific, technical and transferable skills needed for collaborative and translational research.<br><br>Alongside our doctoral training programme, activities will include training in experimental medicine, data science and bioinformatics, peer-to-peer learning and opportunities to develop leadership and wider professional skills.<br><br>As the programme develops, Centre-wide activities will include Experimental Medicine Summer Schools and other opportunities for researchers from different institutions and disciplines to learn together and share expertise.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Research culture and team science Building a collaborative, inclusive research community where people across disciplines, professions, institutions and career stages can contribute, develop and work together.
