Team science is central to this approach. We want people to be recognised for the different expertise and contributions they bring, to have opportunities to develop their careers and skills, and to work across traditional disciplinary and institutional boundaries.
The Centre is designed around team science, bringing together complementary expertise to address complex questions that cannot be tackled by individual disciplines or institutions alone.
Researchers, clinicians, data scientists, technical specialists, research professionals and other contributors will work across Research Streams, working groups and institutions. We will recognise the different contributions that make collaborative research possible and create opportunities for people to contribute their expertise to shared Centre goals.
The Centre will create opportunities for researchers and research professionals at different career stages to develop their skills, experience and networks within a multidisciplinary and multi-institutional research environment.
Early and mid-career researchers will have opportunities to contribute to the development of the Centre through an ECR/MCR Forum, alongside mentoring, leadership development, fellowship support and activities designed to support career progression and independence.
We also want people to gain experience beyond their immediate research environment, building connections across institutions, disciplines and different parts of the translational research pathway.
Training will be embedded across the Centre, creating opportunities for people to develop the scientific, technical and transferable skills needed for collaborative and translational research.
Alongside our doctoral training programme, activities will include training in experimental medicine, data science and bioinformatics, peer-to-peer learning and opportunities to develop leadership and wider professional skills.
As the programme develops, Centre-wide activities will include Experimental Medicine Summer Schools and other opportunities for researchers from different institutions and disciplines to learn together and share expertise.
High-quality research depends on robust, transparent and reproducible ways of working. Across the Centre, we will support approaches that make research outputs, methods and resources as accessible and reusable as possible, while meeting appropriate ethical, governance and data protection requirements.
Promoting rigorous research practice, transparency and shared responsibility for the quality and integrity of our research.
Developing and sharing protocols, methods and approaches that support consistent and reproducible research across institutions.
Supporting research data, software and other resources to be findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable where appropriate.

Restorative immunology requires expertise that crosses traditional disciplinary and institutional boundaries. The Centre is designed to bring together researchers, clinicians and research professionals across its participating institutions to work on shared scientific questions.
Cross-institutional collaboration, shared expertise and opportunities to work across Research Streams will help connect data science, mechanistic research and experimental medicine, strengthening the pathway from discovery towards patient benefit.
Our research culture will develop alongside the Centre. We will listen to the people who work across the programme, review how our ways of working are supporting collaboration and inclusion, and identify where improvements are needed.
Centre-wide forums, working groups and regular opportunities for feedback will help ensure that research culture is something we actively develop throughout the seven-year programme.
